Nepal Telecom now has competitive pricing for FTTH market

0

Worldlink, Vianet, and other ISP of Nepal must be going through some stressful times this past month. The new budget has made mandatory for ISP to pay taxes as Telecom operators and now Nepal Telecom has renewed it’s FTTH tariffs to be very competitive. This is in line with the current offering rates of other Internet providers. Revised Nepal Telecoms FTTH pricing is a welcome sign for better competition between dwindling quality of Internet Service quality in Nepal.

This may have been possible with the recent fiber optic connection with the China. This is a huge benefit for the consumers as Nepal Telecom has a much bigger control of the communication infrastructure and has incentives to reach rural areas.

Before the current tariffs, Nepal Telecoms’ rates for internet were sky-high compared to other FTTH service providers. While NT is known to provide quality service, we hope it can grow up to be a service we all can depend upon. Major Internet Service Providers have a poor quality infrastructure and support when it comes to providing the service they promise. My recent tickets on Worldlink support were closed without even contacting me.

Here’s the comparison for Nepal Telecom FTTH costs against two of the most used ISP in Nepal. The costs are as of June 21’st, 2018.
