Google Sky Map goes Open Source collaborating with Carnegie Mellon University

Google Sky Map App was introduced in May 2009 to give the world a view of the open space arround earth. Developed by Google developers in 20% of their time. Tt was a huge hit with the Android users with over 10,000,000 installs and 176385 five star reviews. Now Google has opened up Google Sky Map to the Open Source community collaborating with Carnegie Mello University.

So now Google and Carnegie Mello University is working together with the open source astronomy community to develop the App even further.
