This move will help developers use the source code to create personalized ROMs for users without the extra apps and customization implemented by the carriers and the manufacturer. The developer teams like Cyanogen Mod will be able to create customized ROMs for its users of Samsung Galaxy S3 phones, while other developers may be able to implement features and better code to other phones increasing the performance of those phones.

Samsung will be most welcomed by the developers and the open source team for this release, and we can hope that other Android device manufacturers will also release their source code to the public as Open Source code is meant to be.
