Mozilla have announced Firefox OS developer preview phones with collaboration with Telefonica and Geeksphone. Mozilla’s Firefox OS is totally built upon open web standards like HTML5, JavaScript and CSS which makes it much easier to build upon and use. Firefox currently have released details for two phones which will probably be available from February and be sold from Geeksphone.

As Mozilla is a company working to make web open to the users with a motto “Doing good is part of our code”, Firefox OS will follow the same motto and provide a better and open platform for users to use their mobile devices. As Firefox provides the latest of the best technology is web browsing, Firefox OS on mobiles will provide users with better privacy, features and security backed up by the help from the open source community.

As the Firefox OS is open source, Any one can help make the operating system even better by creating apps if you’re a developer, or just by using, supporting and reporting bugs that will be found on this new operating system. Mozilla also has scheduled a hack event called Firefox OS App Days, an opportunity to learn, hack, share and celebrate Firefox OS.

And also as other open source mobile platforms are developing like Ubuntu Phone and HP’s Open WebOS, Its safe to say that the users will be getting much more options in the future to choose their Mobile devices. And this competition will bring positive development to the Mobile Operating systems as a whole. As per Firefox OS, we have been using Mozilla Firefox for a long time and love it so we wish them all the luck they need.
