Hide Drives on Windows XP

Here’s a way to hide your desired drives on Windows XP. This will save the normal users from changing the contents or messing with the system files of Windows. But this will only hide the drives and not deny access to user.

For this you’ll have to go to run and type gpedit.msc and hit enter.

Then you’ll be taken to “Group Policy” Window. Then navigate to User Configuration -> Windows Component -> Windows Explorer. And on the right pane search for “Hide these specified drives in My Computer”. Then double click the option.

Then, Set the option to “Enabled“, below in the drop down box select the drives you want to hide from the user. And Apply the settings and exit. And you’re done.

Then see if the drive is really hidden in your “My Computer
