S.M.A.R.T (Self-Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology) is a self-diagnostic function of the hard disk. The failing of this command to execute at boot means that your hard disk is about to fail because of power failures or other hazards. So you need to get it checked. This post shows you how to disable it so you can boot without any error message at boot.
This command can be disabled on BIOS setup utility that you get when you press DEL button on startup. This might not work on all BIOS.
On the blue screen. Choose the “Advanced” tab.
Among the Settings shown choose “IDE Configuration”.
In the next screen you will see your hard drive(s). Choose the one that’s having this problem and press Enter.
On next screen set the “Type” from “Auto” to “User”. this will enable you to manually change options.
Then you’ll be able to disable the S.M.A.R.T Command below the screen.
Save the Changes and Reboot.
This will disable S.M.A.R.T Command check at boot. And you don’t have to Press F4 to continue.
