If your flash drive or sd memory card is showing nothing more than shortcuts to the original files on the flash drive. Heres how to remove virus that creates shortcuts fix.

1. First Open CMD window from the run window.
2. Go to the drive where you want to fix the problem

Example: if the drive is G:\ Just type "G:" and press enter

3. The last step is to execute this command.

attrib -h -r -s /s /d *.*

Attrib is a command that handles the attributes of files and folders on Windows. The (-) sign is used to remove the attribute while (+) adds them. Here we are going to remove Hidden (h), Read Only(r) and system file(s). The virus adds these attributes to your files so you can't view or access them. And *.* is a wildcard that makes command to affect all the files and folders in the drive.

After you execute the command you can view all your files are now visible and you can use them.

Also to avoid this problem always use a better Anti-Virus software and don't use your flash/pen drives on public computers without any anti-virus protection. So your files don't get infected in the first place.

Does this look familiar:

  • Your computer is running slower than usual?
  • Does it take forever to run or load programs?
  • Need help on how to speed up Lenovo laptop?
  • You are plagued by the Blue Screen of Death?
  • Computer errors frequently pop up and hassle you?
  • Your system takes forever to boot up or shut down?

A registry clean up program can help diagnose what's the problem and its optimization feature lets you pinpoint exactly how to boost system performance. Attempting to fix it manually is only recommended for folks who are computer experts. If you remove or uninstall the wrong registry entry or value, the entire system can collapse. This is why it is highly recommended to use a registry cleaner software. It has an Advanced System Repair that automatically scans your computer and repairs problems in minutes!
