Google is giving a $250,000 grant to help close the gap between the haves and the have-nots in technology educations. iGotITtoo, is an organization which trains communities that have been left behind in the technology revolution. Google has pledged the money to this group so that it can increase its effort to the whole city of New York.Societies Grow Reliance On Tech EducationSociety has evolved technologically and it is increasingly dependent upon it. The digital world is divided along socioeconomic lines when it comes to knowledge and access to skills needed to interact with this technology driven society. This status quo leaves many in our nation left behind when it comes to:

Organization Helping To Close The Tech Education GapiGotITtoo is a group that does not seek profit. This organization works to end this digital divide in the New York City’s Burroughs and communities that have been left behind and underserved. They offer a service that is unique and opportunities in these places intending to empower the people in them with technology.IGotITtoo Tech Education Beginnings In New YorkThe group started in 2007, and its name is an abbreviation of “I’ve got information technology, too.” Its offices are in the Brooklyn area in New York City, and the organizations members are striving to make sure that all peoples in the area have access to technology and its tools. The ones who began iGotITtoo started training in a community center. They gave computer classes to close the growing technology gap. After this, more and more people became interest in taking the lessons. These volunteers have now grown to over 2 dozen at three different locations in the Brooklyn area. Google Donation Will Fund IGotITtoo’s Expansion Of Tech EducationThe leader of this effort stated recently that the goal of this operation is expansion throughout the city of New York during this current year. This is when Google responded with its generous grant to assist them in their expansion effort.Many Ways To Help With Tech EducationThis donation will go a long way in helping the organization reach its goals. Other ways individuals, companies and organizations can help with this effort are:
