How to add meta tags in blogger?

I just started with Google blogspot for a personal blog because why not? And I've been trying to verify it on social media sites like Pinterest and I couldn't figure out how to do that. 

It seems that I cannot upload a HTML file or add a DNS record for it so how do I verify my ownership? It took awhile for me to figure it out but it seems I can edit the HTML of the theme and directly include the verification meta tag along with the meta tags already included in the theme.

Step 1. Go to your blogger dashboard and then "Theme" Settings


Step 2. Next to the "Customize" dropdown, click on "Edit Theme"


Step 3. Add the meta tags provided by the social media site after the pre-included meta tags



And complete the verification process on the site that requires the verification
