Free MySQL Remote Website Backup Script

You wouldn't leave all of your money in a cash tin that was out of your sight most of the time.  Most websites produce revenue or leads for their owners, so it makes sense to keep a copy of the data that powers the website in more than one place.  You can never know when a technical disaster might hit - or even a fundamental human mistake.  When the ongoing cost of producing and storing backups is virtually zero, why wouldn't you backup?

Once set up correctly, it produces a backup copy of the MySQL database which it is linked to.  It then compresses that backup into a zip file (with a .tgz extension) and copies the file across to the linked Dropbox account in a dedicated folder (Apps/Remote Website Backup)

The script is designed to work with only one database at a time (each database can have any number of tables within it).  To backup more than one database, just create as many copies of the script as you want and install them on all of your websites.  You will just need to give each file a unique name and/or directory location.
