problem while installing apps for mobile

how to install apps without going to google play? after rooting, my phone has problem and installation apps fails. I don't know why. Please commend your suggestion. By the way, download apk files is safe, isn't it? my phone is lenovo s90

If you can use google play store, you can easily install the apps and games which you are interested, i don't why you are finding a different way to install your apps.
