One of the really nice things about the Internet and companies, is that they are always trying to out beat and outwit each other. Recently the only way you could get an iPhone was either by getting an unlocked one and using it with whatever network you wanted or you could use AT&T. The problem with getting an iPhone unlocked is that they usually cost a lot more than they usually would. Some people that have AT&T have been complaining about the way the network works – a lot of dropped calls, prices, etc.
Verizon is said to be picking up the iPhone. In fact, the Verizon iPhone release date is on January 2011 or so its speculated that this is when it will happen (AT&T chose to not reply or comment on this) – great news for you Apple lovers! One of the more prestigious rumor starters was The New York Times, they were quoted in saying:
“Apple is now making a version of the iPhone 4 for Verizon’s network, according to a person who is in direct contact with Apple. Apple and Verizon will begin selling the phone early next year, said the person, who agreed to speak on condition of anonymity because the plans were supposed to be confidential and he did not want to alienate his contacts at Apple.”
This is also the perfect after Christmas gift to get your loved ones, especially if they were the people that were having problems with AT&T! The iPhone 4 was released back in June 2010 and since then has had a lot of angry network AT&T users. The iPhone 4G is a brilliant piece of technology. One of the problems that a lot of people foresee happening is the features that come with the iPhone 4g AT&T that might not come with the iPhone Verizon. For example, the ability to surf the web via 4G and be on a call at the same time.
Verizon will be working through these issues in the next few months, but I can tell you that if they don’t add a simple feature such as the one above, they are going to have a lot of grumpy folks! On the other hand, if Verizon iPhone offers the same and some new features that AT&T doesn’t, a lot of people are going to be switching over. I think it’s probably in Verizon’s best interest to offer 3G calling and surfing as well as free tethering if they are smart!
Be on the lookout for information on the Verizon iPhone release date and as with anything, before you buy, make sure you check out some reviews online. People are pretty honest when it comes to consumer goods – so take a look online when the Verizon iPhone release date comes along and see what everyone thinks about the new network!
